"Your first family is your blood family and you’ll always be true to that. That means something. But there’s another family and that’s the kind you go out and find. Maybe even by accident sometimes. And they’re as much blood as your first family. Maybe more so, because they don’t have to look out for you and they don’t have to love you. They choose to."
This is probably one of the truest quotes I have ever read.. I have some friends that I can directly put in to that quote, I really do consider them family and I don't have any idea what I would do without them. I love you guys <3 . :)
The last time I posted I said how I loved random visits, but Friday I realized I also love last minute planning.. Friday we had a pretty decent size snow storm here in Indiana, so I was talking to mom and she said something about tomorrow would be a good day to go sledding. I got all excited and I'm like "well...could we have people come over and go sledding tomorrow then?" *fingers-crossed* And all of of a sudden I heard one of the most amazing words a teenager could ever hear their parents say: "yes" ! I couldn't wait! The second I heard that I texted Rachel, "do you want to come sledding tomorrow? "
"Um....Duh! ;P " was her reply. I then texted Julia, Jillian, Jackie, and Ian and asked pretty much the same thing. They all responded with different versions of "duh!" I was SO excited, Saturday afternoon couldn't come soon enough!
we finally got them up and out of her car the real sledding began, my dad came out and started pushing us down the hill, it was a ton of fun. We were crashing into people, pulling others onto the sleds with us, knocking each other over like bowling pins! I can't even fully describe to you guys how much fun it was.
After sledding for a while, we finally convinced my dad to take us sledding on the road; so he hooked a big ol' round tarp (from an old trampoline) to the back of our awesome blue pick-up truck and told us to all jump on.we all sat on the tarp in almost a line, the two outer people holding the edges and everyone holding onto everyone for dear life It was probably one of the most painful things I have ever done, but also something I will never forget, The little kids sat in the back of the truck and threw PILES AND PILES of snow at us, we couldn't see and we lost a couple gloves . Once we finally got back and we were soaking wet and FREEZING, we came inside and had some amazing chili and hot chocolate that mom had made while we were outside.
4:15 came WAY to fast and Jillian, Julia, Jackie, and Jonny left. Rachel and Ian were the only ones left. We watched some tv with my family, popped a TON of popcorn and had a very in depth discussion on how we would fill an entire house with pop corn.
Eventually we teens migrated upstairs to the den, Microwaved marshmallows in hand (or on fork). There's something about smaller groups of friends, yeah I LOVE having a ton of friends over all at one time crammed into a room just having fun, but there is something to be said for the smaller groups, the ones where we still have an amazing time. Not because we're being crazy and laughing and joking, but because we're sitting there talking, a real conversation that isn't interrupted by someone being held down and tickled to death. We sat up there for another hour and a half and talked about almost anything and everything that you could imagine. From toys that we used to play with, to old memories from almost 3 and a half years ago, it seemed like we talked FOREVER, but forever wouldn't have been long enough. Eventually 8:30 came and they had to leave so that my parents could go see a movie. It was kind of sad to see them leave to be perfectly honest... I hate when friends leave my house and it goes all quiet again like it never even happened; and to most it probably never did happen, the only ones who even know it happened were the friends hear and the only proof we have is memories... :)
It was by far one of the best days I have ever had..I know I say that a lot but every time I get to be with my best friends I have another best day, that's just the way it is.
Next saturday I get to spend the entire day with these friends on the way down and back to Indianapolis, 6 hours of amazing memories are awaiting, not to mention the full day in between. :)
I do believe my life gets better every day, and having best friends like these to share it with makes it a trillion times better.
Love you <3 (:
ReplyDeleteI love you too! :) <3
DeleteAlright, no offense to the other three peoples' blogs i read, but this is by far the best one..probably because i'm one of those best friends, and also because YOUR best friends are MY best friends too (subtracting myself of course and adding you)...i cannot even explain how much of a 10,000% BLAST that day was...it was amazing.
ReplyDeleteha Best? I don't think I'd go that far, but thanks! It most definitely was an amazing day!!
